This 2 disk set covers two of Britain’s most popular waterways.

The Llangollen Canal
This programme has been completely remade from scratch, and it’s taken us over four years to do it. We feature the internationally famous Froncysyllte Male Voice Choir, when they kindly invited us to one of their rehearsals. The canal takes us through the beautiful Cheshire countryside, and across two of the most splendid structures on the entire canal network, as we cross the gorges created by the Welsh Mountain rivers on two spectacular aqueducts, one of which is now a World Heritage site.  (Run Length 68 mins)
The Shropshire Union
This is a completely new programme, filmed in 2008. It takes you on a 66 mile journey up the mainline of the Shropshire Union canal, from its junction with the Staffs and Worcester Canal in the South, to the Manchester Ship Canal at Ellesmere Port in the North. The Southern section of the Shroppie, from Autherley Junction, is one of the latest of the narrow canals. Designed by Telford, it employed the “cut and fill” construction technique, with deep, sheer-sided cuttings and massive embankments. This is in sharp contrast to the much older wide beam canal to the north which meanders, river-like, around the contours of the landscape, and through some of the oldest and most attractive parts of the City of Chester. The canal terminates at a basin within the Ellesmere Port Boat Museum, which is a “must” for any canal enthusiast. (Run Length 63 mins)

In PAL DVD-R format, suitable for the UK, European and Australia / New Zealand markets. Will also play in laptops anywhere.
