This 2 disk set covers the navigable river system of the Severn and Avon valleys.

The River Severn
The longest river in England, this programme covers the non-tidal navigable section from Stourport, through Upton, Worcester and Tewkesbury, to Gloucester, exploring all these wonderful ancient riverside towns and cities. At Gloucester, we enter the docks, and leave them via the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal all the way down to Sharpness. (Run Length 50 mins)

The River Avon
It’s a beautiful navigation at any time of the year, but filmed in the spring, the “Garden of England” countryside through which it flows is seen at its very best. The programme tells the story of the tremendously ambitious and successful restorations of the navigation last century, starting in 1950 with Douglas Barwell OBE and the formation of the Lower Avon Navigation Trust. Then came the Upper Avon Navigation Trust with David Hutchings MBE and others in 1965. There are fascinating first-hand accounts from people who were very much involved in these restorations. It’s a story of magnificent achievements, culminating in 1974 with the opening of the Upper Avon Navigation by HM The Queen Mother. (Run Length 57 mins)

In PAL DVD-R format, suitable for the UK, European and Australia / New Zealand markets. Will also play in laptops anywhere.
